Presentation description
We analyze income inequality and the effects of government programs on income distributions in a Yucatec Maya village located in the Yucatan peninsula. Although a formerly subsistence economy, with the recent completion of a paved road the community has been increasingly integrated into the cash economy. We find government programs level inequality and contribute further to the growth of market imperatives.
