Creating Tunable Commodity Polymers

Semester: Spring 2023

Presentation description

This work explores degradable commodity polymers. The goal of this research is to create degradable commodity polymers. The first step of this process is to understand the relationship between the polymer and its ability to absorb water. This was done by focusing on the coblock poylmer PS-b-PEO. The molar mass of PEO was changed to change the hydrophbicity of the polymer. This is measured using time dependent contact angle. the ability to degrade is measure using BOD.
