Presentation description
Mitochondrial metabolite carriers are a family of proteins that transport metabolites into and out of mitochondria, an organelle key in the generation of metabolic energy in eukaryotic cells. To investigate the function and regulation of mitochondrial metabolite carriers, we examined one carrier known as the mitochondrial oxaloacetate carrier (Oac1), which is a carrier involved in leucine biosynthesis.
