The Wishbone Core: Using Sedimentary Analysis to Determine the Paleoclimate Conditions of Lake Bonneville

Semester: Fall 2023

Presentation description

For this project, we conducted sedimentary analysis on a lake sediment core obtained from the Utah Test and Training Range in the West Desert of Utah. Lake sediment cores can be used as proxies for determining past climate conditions. Therefore, we analyzed the Wishbone Core using a variety of methods to reconstruct the climate of Lake Bonneville over the last ~30,000 years. The research we conducted will be used to expand the knowledge of the climatic history of the Great Basin region.

This research was also presented by Kylee Haslam.
